FMI golf will be at Potomac Ridge this week – I hope you all know the drill – show up at 7 am and we tee off at 7:15. Bring a few business cards and $15! don’t forget the $15! bring your friends, bring your neighbors, bring your out of school children! We need to turn in a strong showing at Potomac Ridge!
and tomorrow, see below, is the rescheduled Dunk/Air Target/Godzilla at the Greene Turtle in Edgewater for the Funds for Friends Happy Hour – so show up starting at 4:00 pm and be ready to join in! I am still taking dunkees too! and we will have a sort of secret weapon… hm… (ok I will NOT be bringing my banjo, don’t worry).

OK Folks, I know that I love to say that we never reschedule due to the weather, but, we are gonna reschedule due to the weather – so PLEASE mark your calendars and tell your friends to be at the Turtle in Edgewater from 4 to 6 pm on Thursday the 25th of June. It will be a blast with Godzilla, the Airtarget, and the dunk tank. (Yes, Doug, I will be getting in the tank, but I have a secret weapon and a week to work on my aim…)
FMI will go as usual tomorrow morning, rain or shine. I will bring the Wii and Tiger Woods golf in case we are rained out. We will repeat our earlier “closest to the pin” competition – which was a lot of fun!!
Wow – What a busy weekend! Thanks to all the Irregulars who came to Queenstown on Friday – beautiful weather, with one minute of rain. This was our second largest turnout yet, with 15 golfers! Pretty impressive that 15 people could actually show up at Queenstown at 7 am on a Friday. Especially me. Here are the remnants after the round – big thanks to everyone who brought new people – and thanks to Heather Buck for being our token female. Call Adrian! FMI needs more female irregulars!
OK, now on to weightier matters… like GODZILLA!
THIS THING IS SO COOL! sorry about that.. but the South County Festival was fantastic and hot. Thanks to our big inflatable buddy we had some shade. We only hit one car with an errant “birdie ball” (remember we are hitting the plastic “birdie ball” – it’s a sort of napkin ring that you can use for practice – just google it) and landed in one guy’s beer.
THIS COMING THURSDAY we will be at the Greene Turtle in Edgewater with a Dunk tank, the Airtarget and… Godzilla! and YES I will be in the tank at some point. But there are a few surprises left for those who make it! and a raffle for an Atlantic Golf gift basket with a $500 gift card! Yes I said a $500 gift card. PLEASE tell anyone who might be interested to come on out! We are also taking applications by all of you who really WANT to be in the Dunk Tank! I need you! really, I am a little desparate,.. as at this point it is me and Rick Burns from the office…. Hey Phil! How about a little Blue Thrill dunkage! Anyone?…

OK!! Lots to catch up on this week so I will get right to it! First… the Nine, Wine, and Whiskey was a bit of a wash out! but here are some photos of the party which all of you – well, almost all of you – missed. HUGE thanks to Chanell and Jeff and Doug and all the folks that showed up! and also thanks to Bob Busch for his excellent work setting this all up inside.
FRIDAY MORNING IRREGULARS are at Queenstown! Hopefully it won’t rain – I mean there can’t really be anything left up there! Uh, oh… Anyway, I will be there, rain or shine and hope that a lot of you can make it.
Like always with the irregulars…. Bring $15 for charity – bring some business cards – golf clubs optional – show up at the pro shop at 7 am and complain that I am late – bring golf jokes (if you can really stump me, I will give you a prize of some sort) – most of all PLEASE LET ANYONE Know about this who might want to come! It is more fun with more people!
and finally… South County Chamber Festival this Saturday (that is the 13th) we will have a FUNdraising booth! With a 20 foot high inflatable Godzilla! really!
GOdzilla is new, and brought to us by the folks who sold me the “Airtarget” (the inflatable skeeball/birdie ball golf game – look at the old post of video of Liz further on down on the blog…). I can’t wait to blow this thing up - Who needs a big cow when you have godzilla! grrrrr!
PLEASE try to come by and visit if you are around – it will be a hoot. and YES I am looking for volunteers to help out! So far I have some help, but this is 11 to 7 and I would welcome some company…

I just spoke with someone in Florida, and it must be raining everywhere today (Dad will call later and recommend building an ark for sure) BUT we are still on tonight for the WINE and Whiskey part of the event! We have some excellent wines to sample, and of course whiskeys, but this is the first time we have had so much wine to sample! Some Chilean, some California..
I just talked to BLUE THRILL and we will try to start a little early so show up at 6! I am picking up Chef Bruce’s (he is our new chef at South River) desserts and heading over there in a few minutes.
